Artistic Approach:


My Artwork techniques include Sculptured-texture, Tapestry, Textile art, Shadowboxes, Antique Silver-effect, theme art and decorative art/accessories.

These self derived artwork techniques are meant to emphasize textures, natural stone and antique silver effects expertly applied to result in stunning artwork by using layers of reused & recycled materials and mixed media.

More recently, I have been investigating the combinations of these directly with drawing, painting, decoupage, appliqué, collage, and surface design embellishment explorations.

I am continuing to push the boundaries between tradition and innovation, and to extend further my artistic creative ability to create more unique techniques.

I choose these media to fully explore the idea not only in design, colour, structure and texture, but also to express in timeless story-telling and poetry.

‘Structured Texture’ is an attempt to exemplify the ‘Trompe l’oeil’ technique (translation: ‘to fool the eye’ – is the ancient art of illusion through design). Textured paintings on canvas are meant to emphasize textile textures and natural stone effects expertly applied to result in stunning artwork by using Venetian plaster and mixed media.

‘Antique Silver effect’ is my own derived technique that expresses the innovative artistic ability to create unique artwork using the ordinary kitchen foil to resemble the antique silver effect on various surfaces such as canvas boards, framed canvas, table tops and any customised accessory craft piece.

‘Tapestry: Innovative leading edge painting and decorating techniques employed, mainly influences by some of the old world paintings and images that are incorporated in a fabulous hanging tapestry using recycled construction paper with a variety of mediums and venetian plaster to give the emphasis of leather finish.

Sculptured Mirror’: A simple household item such as a mirror is transformed into a magnificent and decorative work of art for home décor that can be a unique point of elegance and distinction.

‘Shadow boxes’: Creative hand crafted sculptured figures of reused precious textiles mounted on a painted background.

Textile art: By investigating the combination of textiles, fibers, yarns, paper, Venetian plaster etc directly with drawing, painting, printing, dying, photographic and decoupage explorations, worked primarily in the craft tradition often found in Textiles. The processes involved in the creation of textile art also include appliqué, collage, stitch embroidery and surface design embellishments. Many are hand painted to create richness, luminosity and structural texture not found in commercial art form.

Decorative Accessories:  My creative handcrafted accessories and art pieces that are mostly customized to communicate as well as connect with the people of so many different cultures, traditions and diverse communities and nations.
